BURLINGTON PARENTAL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP POLICY

1. The Society is committed to:

  • Making Christian education available to Christian parents.Providing a sound academic education integrated with a Christian perspective.
  • The participation of parents in the educational processes of the school.

2. Membership in the Society is limited to those who can discuss and take on issues from a common basis of commitment and understanding. In order to make this possible, the conditions for membership are:

  • Assent to the basis, purpose and principle guidelines contained in By-law number 3.
  • Payment of the annual membership fees, if not tuition-paying parents.
  • The age of 18 and over.
  • Membership and active participation in a local Christian church.

3. Membership in the Society confers the following rights:

  • To receive notice of meetings, mailings, and information on the affairs of the society.
  • To exercise voting privileges at membership meetings
  • To participate in Society activities.
  • To serve on the Board and its committees.

4. The Society recognizes two types of Memberships:

  • The Family Membership incorporates husband and wife as members in the Society. Both spouses are entitled to all the rights of membership, including voting privileges.
  • The Individual Membership is available to single adults, single parents, widows, and widowers. The individual membership fee shall be one-half of the family membership fees.

5. The Board of Directors has the right to terminate any membership when such action is felt to be in the best interest of the Burlington Parental Christian School Society.

6. Tuition-Paying Parents

  • The membership fee is available to and encouraged among eligible parents with children enrolled in the school.

7. The Society recognizes support for its efforts from a number of non-member sources.

  • Corporate and business contributors may offer goods, services and money to promote and support the work of the Society. Such contributors are entitled to acknowledgement of their support and information on the affairs and activities of the Society.
  • Individuals and families may serve as volunteers or offer financial contributions in support of the Society. Such people are entitled to encouragement and gratitude and may request information on the affairs and activities of the Society.
  • Churches, foundations and other charitable organizations may offer financial support for the work of the Society. These organizations shall receive acknowledgement of their support and may request information on the affairs and activities of the Society.
