Welcoming our New Teachers!

Dear Parents,

We want to welcome and introduce you to the new staff members at Trinity. We are blessed to have them as part of our community.

Mandi

Mandi Schenk - Kindergarten

My name is Mandi Schenk and I am excited to join the Trinity community to teach Kindergarten this year. I was blessed to work for Trinity in the past as a Grade 1 and 3 teacher for almost 10 years before we were blessed with our two children. I live in Waterdown with my husband Mike and our two children, Hannah and Owen. We enjoy spending time with family and friends and love spending time near the water.

God has given me a passion for teaching children and encouraging them to learn and discover their gifts, talents, and abilities. What a blessing it is to teach in a Christian school where we can learn more about God and His amazing creation. It is my desire that all children know that they are created in God’s image, that He loves them so much and that He has special plans for their lives.

I am looking forward to serving in this community and seeing the wonderful plans God has for Trinity!

Alison Lo

Alison Lo - Grades 3/4

My name is Alison Lo and I am so thrilled to be joining you this year as the homeroom teacher of Grade 3/4. Growing up in north Halton, I started teaching in Mississauga and then spent the next 17 years in Hong Kong teaching at an international Christian school. Last summer, my husband and I, along with our 2 daughters, Alysha (age 13) and Ariana (age 8) made the big move back to Canada to be closer to family. It was the hardest decision we have had to make but God has been faithful in providing for us as we settled into our new lives here.

This summer has been filled with fun and sun - we enjoyed watching live tennis at the Canadian Open, going camping with our church, experiencing cottage life and beaches at Sandbanks with friends and family, catching up on swim lessons for the girls and other activities.

I look forward to getting to know you and the students, and am excited to see God work in this new season at Trinity.

Janel Hiemstra

Janel Hiemstra - Educational Assistant

My name is Janel Hiemstra and I am an Educational Assistant with almost 20 years of experience in education. I have worked in both public and private schools. My husband and two children, along with myself, recently moved to Burlington and quickly became a part of the Trinity community. My son, Noah, is in Grade 7 and my daughter, Jensyn, is in Grade 3. You can often find our family at the ball diamond, hockey arena or gymnastics club.

My family and I strive to be a family on mission, whether that’s by having people over enjoying backyard campfires or skating on our ice rink. In my “spare time” I love to play baseball and challenge myself physically by participating in Triathlons and crazy hiking adventures.

I love to learn and teach. I believe that it is important to strive for excellence in Christian education by providing a nurturing environment for all students to succeed.

Marie-Josee

Marie-Josee Blouin - French

My name is Marie-Josee Blouin, and I have been teaching French for 24 years. I have the love and passion for the language. I have worked mainly my whole career in private schools. I am very excited to join Trinity school this year and start the Enriched French program.

I love seeing students learning French and becoming confident with the language. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone soon!
