psalm 25: 8-9

Back To School!

Dear Parents,

We are excited to welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year at Trinity. It has been way too long since we were able to be together in person. We are eagerly anticipating the return of community gatherings and events that bring us together. While some protocols remain in place due to the ongoing COVID situation, we are pleased that many sports, music, and art clubs will be able to resume. We are particularly looking forward to celebrating with students and worshiping together at Chapel.

There are a few themes that have been resonating with our Admin team since last June and have re-emerged in prayer throughout the summer. They revolve around God’s love and faithfulness along with the paths that He leads us on. In Psalm 25, David writes, “Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in what is right and teaches the humble his way. All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness, for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.”

We know that it is God that lays out the best way for us to live. Despite what the world is saying, we know He holds the truth. He is the best teacher of all, as He is always loving and faithful to us. He also calls us to be humble before Him and towards each other. Our desire is to model His ways and uphold His covenant. We look forward to exploring this theme in greater depth with our students and as a community.

As we start the school year, we also want you to feel well informed about Health & Safety protocols, as they relate to changes as a result of COVID-19. Many of our protocols remain the same as last year, as previously mentioned in our early August update. The government has also released this document that details how to handle possible outbreaks in school, which has changed slightly since last spring. Throughout the month of August, information has been fluid, so will keep you updated on the latest developments.

In regards to GIFTS hours and volunteering in the school, we would like to slowly reintroduce opportunities for parents to do so. It is our desire for as many community events to return; however, we want to do so in a safe and responsible manner. We will send out some additional details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, there will be a few opportunities to start volunteering for things outdoors. Please be on the lookout for these.

The bus routes will come in a separate email next week, as we are awaiting confirmation for the routes and times from our bus provider.

For those of you who have opted out of busing, reimbursement cheques will be coming in September.

Our drop off/pick up plan will be identical to last year for families for who will not be using the bus (8:15-8:35 drop-off in the bus loop and 3:30-3:55 pick in the bus loop. Please remember to identify your vehicle with your child(ren)’s name to help us keep this process as smooth as possible. Our classroom teachers will also be connecting with you before the year begins.

We look forward to seeing all of you soon,

Sincerely,
J-D Lussier, Principal
